Well, well! As the Coyotes finally move, here comes Gary Bettman with a plan for the return of the Nordiques, and it's quite simple.

We know that the commissioner seems to systematically refuse to have a team in the capital, but we didn't know why.

During his visit to Utah, Guillaume Lefrançois spoke with Gary Bettman, and some rather positive remarks came out.

"The good @glefrancoisLP is in Utah, and he spoke with G. Bettman about Quebec. We need to remember this phrase: 'I will meet with the elected officials of Quebec whenever they want. But the government of Quebec will not own the franchise.'"

Gary added that he refuses to let the government be the owner and that it must be in private hands. The next owner or owners must be strong and bold.

Personally, I love this statement. It's simple and very truthful. When we look at Salt Lake City, Houston, Atlanta, and more recently Las Vegas and Seattle, the investors were very strong.

So Gary is not opposing the return of the Nordiques at all; quite the contrary. He's just waiting for the right person or people to present him with their plan.

For now, it's the Minister of Finance of Quebec who is visiting him, which isn't very promising, despite all his good intentions.
