Huge trade between the Canadiens and the Avalanche involving five pieces: It has just been proposed, and it would make a lot of sense
The trade rumors involving Sean Monahan are not new. Almost all experts agree that he will be traded before March 8, although many of them hope he stays with the Canadiens.
Rumors are one thing, but it takes something concrete to sink your teeth into. Marc-Olivier Beaudoin talked about a proposal, and let's say the polls are proving him right. It's quite evenly split, which is rare to see."We know that Sean Monahan should be traded within 2 months. We also know that Colorado is interested in acquiring him, and they have a recent history of transactions with the Habs.
PROPOSAL!
MTL receives: 1st 2024 + 3rd 2025 + A.Beaucage
COL receives: S.Monahan + J.Kovacevic"

So, Kovacevic would be included in the deal, but the return would be very good. We know that Monahan should fetch a first-round pick, so Kovacevic, who cost nothing because he was claimed off waivers, would bring in a 3rd-round pick and Hometown prospect Alex Beaucage.
