It's stirring up: Samuel Montembeault says out loud what everyone is thinking silently
The Canadiens are currently going through a tough time. The team is being outplayed and dominated by opponents. Losing while playing the right way might not be so bad, but in this manner, it's very concerning.
Last Saturday against the Bruins, the score was 5-4 for the home team after two periods, after which they opened up the game to win 9-4. A thorough beating suffered by the Canadiens.Following this game, Montembeault made a comment that was reported by Jeff Gorton.
"In an appearance on TSN 690, Gorton acknowledged it: there is tension within the team right now.
In fact, it all started on the night of the game against the Bruins, explains Gorton. Samuel Montembeault felt that the guys had given up in the third period, and it didn't necessarily sit well with the rest of the group."

It might not be a "cute" statement, but those are the facts. It's true that the team was playing its 3rd game in 4 nights in a 3rd different city, but that's not an excuse to give up.
Nevertheless, I personally don't believe it's a source of conflict in the locker room. If it can motivate the troops and make them realize they need to give more, it will only be beneficial.
