Firstly, the infamous proposal of Nick Suzuki for Wayne Simmonds.
Imagine the Canadiens if Simmonds, in the midst of his decline, had really come, and Suzuki would be with the Flyers. Firstly, the Habs captain would be elsewhere dominating, and Simmonds would no longer be in Montreal today.
His second far-fetched proposition is less severe, but it involves Juraj Slafkovsky. Norman would have traded him last year for Pierre-Luc Dubois. According to him, Dubois is already an established top-six forward, and Slafkovsky might become a top-six.
Currently, Dubois is playing on the Kings' fourth line, with 19 points in 40 games, all while having a salary of $8.5 million for the next 7 years.
Slafkovsky has 16 points in 43 games at 19 years old, playing a significant role on the first line, and he earns $950,000 for another year.
Once again, Norman got it wrong. The Canadiens would have a very different team if he were the GM, and we thank the heavens that he is not.
