Since the beginning of his NHL career, there has been a game of musical chairs with Nick Suzuki's linemates, especially since he became the team's number one center.
With Cole Caufield, they form a great duo, and even then, they have been separated for a few games this year. Now paired again with Caufield and Juraj Slafkovsky, the captain doesn't want it to change anymore, and he made that clear.
"I think we're playing very well all three of us. I hope we can stay together with Slafkovsky!"
- Nick Suzuki
It must be said that it's enjoyable to play with Slafkovsky these days. The Canadiens' 2022 first-round pick is probably the team's best forward over the past two weeks.
"He's been playing very good hockey for two or three weeks now. I've covered some games lately, and he was the best player on the Canadiens. Every time he touches the puck, things happen. He controls it, goes between the two defensemen, finds Caufield, finds Suzuki, protects the puck better than before, falls less often, is physically stronger, and gains confidence!"

Solid! Let's hope it continues like this. For now, the chemistry and scoring chances may not necessarily translate into goals, but that will come soon enough.
