The Montreal Canadiens are reportedly on the verge of announcing changes to their coaching staff, according to Anthony Marcotte.
Indeed, the voice of the Rocket firmly believes that there will be changes. Jean-François Houle may not return to his position, but if he continues with the team, one of his assistants could be affected.
According to Marcotte, it wouldn't be surprising if Paul Byron becomes a coach for the team.
"It doesn't necessarily mean that it will be JF Houle who will be out (it could be Kelly Buchberger and/or Martin Laperrière who would be affected), but Marcotte expects change. And he wouldn't be surprised at all to see Paul Byron get an assistant coaching position in Laval." - Charles-Alexis Brisebois
Paul Byron is extremely appreciated and respected within the organization, and it would be a major announcement to see him climb the ranks in this way. He currently works in player development.
It's worth noting that the former #41 has the CH tattooed on his heart. Even when he didn't have a confirmed job with the team yet, he constantly mentioned that he and his family are happy in the city and will remain here.
He's an extraordinary mentor. He even hosted Logan Mailloux this season. You see the result, as the young defenseman had an excellent first season in Laval.
