Montreal Canadiens surprised many fans last season by making the playoffs, but defenseman Alexandre Carrier has revealed the expectations for this year.

By making the playoffs last year, the Montreal Canadiens defied the odds.
Last November, the team had less than a 5% chance of making the spring tournament.
Martin St. Louis's squad played excellent hockey late in the season, and we know what happened next.
With the addition of players like Noah Dobson,, Zachary Bolduc, and Joe Veleno, we can expect Montreal Canadiens management to raise the team's expectations.
Defenseman Alexandre Carrier revealed the team's expectations for the next season.
Carrier is thrilled about the acquisitions made by the Canadiens this summer, including that of defenseman Noah Dobson

Alexandre Carrier Reveals Expectations for the Upcoming Season

"Clearly, the expectations for the team will be different. Other teams will be expecting us differently. They will be more ready to face us."

"We are still one of the youngest teams in the league,» he continued. «We still have a lot to learn, but it's exciting to grow our core. We know we're heading in the right direction."

He also added:
"It's good to have internal competition," Carrier responded. "And it's true that we were lacking right-handed defensemen, let's not hide that! It's only good for the team when everyone is fighting for spots. We just keep improving collectively. That will help the team's success."

"[Noah] is a big, mobile guy who is capable of good breakouts. He has already shown what he can do in this league. He's only 26 years old, but he comes with a lot of experience and many games under his belt. It's good for our defensive corps and our entire team. Plus, from what I've heard, he's an excellent person who works hard and wants to improve."

We know that other NHL teams will take the Canadiens less lightly.
The team has many excellent players in its organization, and the rest of the NHL knows it.
Finally, the season is coming soon, and we're eager to hear the team's goals.
