Montreal Canadiens fans are excited as the 2025-26 season approaches, and the team is now relying on many young talents.

On the airwaves of BPM Sports, MC Gilles has just made his prediction regarding the Canadiens' next Stanley Cup win, and his comments are sparking major reactions from hockey fans.
It's been a long time since things looked this bright for the Canadiens and, after pulling off a huge surprise by making the playoffs, the players are training hard this summer to be well-prepared for the upcoming campaign.
Samuel Montembeault is the trusted man in net, and Jakub Dobes will be the club's backup goalie. However, keep an eye on new veteran Kaapo Kahkonen, who will certainly aim to have an excellent training camp to secure his spot with the big club.
Captain Nick Suzuki put up 89 points in 2024-25 and could now reach the prestigious 100-point mark. Could his teammate Cole Caufield score 50 goals next season? One thing's certain-he's a natural goal scorer with the talent to do it.
Forward Patrik Laine is determined to bounce back and is working tirelessly during the offseason. The Finn is full of confidence and happy to be playing for the Canadiens.

MC Gilles believes the Montreal Canadiens must win the Stanley Cup within two years - or nothing

On BPM Sports, MC Gilles just stated that, in his opinion, the Montreal organization must win the Stanley Cup, or nothing!
"The Stanley Cup for the Canadiens: It's win it in the next 2 years or nothing." - MC Gilles
The reason? He says that with so many young talents, including Lane Hutson and Ivan Demidov, it's important to take advantage of their entry-level contracts in the NHL, as they will cost much more later.
However, MC Gilles doesn't seem to have considered that Carey Price's contract will soon expire, as will Brendan Gallagher's in the summer of 2027. Patrik Laine's $8,700,000 deal will end next year at the same time, along with Mike Matheson's $4,875,000 contract.
Kent Hughes is far from being in a bad position regarding the salary cap going forward-especially since it will continue to increase.
