Change of role for Arber Xhekaj? Martin St-Louis must act

With Kaiden Guhle suspended, there's a huge gap on Michael Matheson's right side. Martin St-Louis must act for Saturday night's game.

With his recent successes, Arber Xhekaj could very well be the player targeted by the Canadiens' head coach.

Indeed, it's a spectacular turnaround for Xhekaj. He barely played 14 minutes per game earlier in the season, and now he's up to an average of 17 minutes.

All of this after being scratched and spending some time in Laval. It's truly fantastic! Imagine if he had to take on the very important role that Guhle holds against a team as powerful as the Hurricanes!


One thing is certain, everyone will have to step up their game because Guhle is a very important member of the Canadiens' defensive brigade.

At the time of writing these lines, we still don't know St-Louis's plan, as he refused to reveal his defensive pairings. We'll have to wait and see come game time.
