The Montreal Canadiens' training camp is starting soon, and I am certain that many eyes will be on David Reinbacher, first-round pick (5th overall) in 2023.

That is already somewhat the case because in the media world, the young Austrian defenseman is attracting a lot of attention. However, the last few days have not gone as planned.
According to observer Pat Hockey, present at Tuesday morning's practice, Reinbacher appeared visibly frustrated at certain moments during Tuesday's session.
After practice, he had a long discussion with coach Francis Bouillon, a sign that the organization is trying to calm things down and put things in perspective for the young man, full of talent.
"David Reinbacher and coach Francis Bouillon were in discussion for several minutes at the end of today's practice.

I sensed a somewhat frustrated Reinbacher at times during the practice. The young defenseman doesn't seem satisfied with his game since Saturday night's match.

There's still training camp left to prove himself, but everything points to the likelihood that some time with the Laval Rocket at the start of the season could help the 5th overall pick in the 2023 draft.

And it won't be a failure to start the season with the Rocket, where he can play over 20 minutes per game and be used in all situations.

To be continued." - Pat Hockey

David Reinbacher could start the season with the Laval Rocket

Once again, according to reports, since Saturday night's game, Reinbacher seems dissatisfied with his play and his body language spoke volumes.
Even though there is still plenty of time to prove himself, everything indicates that the Canadiens could have him begin the season with the Laval Rocket.
However, in my opinion, that scenario would not be a failure. On the contrary, it would allow the 20-year-old defenseman to play more than 20 minutes per game and take part in all game situations, and this at a still very solid level of play.
I think it would give him confidence and, who knows, he could be called up much earlier than expected to the NHL.
There is still the full camp left to convince management, but one thing is certain: the organization wants to take the necessary time to properly develop one of its brightest prospects.
