Why Nick Suzuki Missed Canadiens Practice Before the Trip to New Jersey

Nick Suzuki is off to a strong start this season with the Montreal Canadiens, but he still missed practice today, raising a few questions ahead of the team's trip to New York.
Except one major player was missing.
And unsurprisingly, that got people talking.
Nick Suzuki Off to a Strong Start and Takes a Treatment Day
"Forward Nick Suzuki will not participate in today's practice (therapy day)."
- Montreal Canadiens
At least the team clarified that it was simply a treatment day - something coaches often use to protect their most heavily used players.
In Suzuki's case, that makes perfect sense.
In my opinion, the captain is having an outstanding start to the season.
He's among the league's top point-getters while facing the best opposing lines.
He plays on the power play.
He plays on the penalty kill.
He takes key faceoffs.
He's on the ice in critical moments.
We saw it again last night with that crucial blocked shot in the final seconds of overtime.
And if a rest day helps him stay at that level, it's probably the right call.
I have to say, I'd much rather see him miss a practice than a game.
