Renaud Lavoie confirmed some bad news: the young defenseman David Reinbacher is suffering from a hand fracture.

According to Lavoie's information, he will be absent for a period of about four weeks, which will force him to miss the rest of training camp and probably the start of the season.

According to the Canadiens' statement, Reinbacher sustained a fracture of the metacarpal bone during the embarrassing loss to the Leafs.
"Defenseman David Reinbacher (broken metacarpal bone) will be out for four weeks."

David Reinbacher injured in the hand and out for four weeks with the Montreal Canadiens

I think this is a real blow for him, as these preparation weeks were crucial to show that he deserved his spot.
He has received a lot of criticism in recent days, and he will not have the opportunity to silence his detractors, at least not for at least four weeks. Indeed, I truly think his goal was to prove that he deserved a more significant role this season, but this injury postpones that verdict.
With the injuries to Dobson and Kaiden Guhle, the last thing the Canadiens needed was another player sidelined. This injury further reduces the defensive depth of the Canadiens, an area already fragile in recent days.
More details to come..
