Extremely touching video of Canadiens prospect Michael Hage
With the 21st overall pick in the last draft, the Canadiens selected forward Michael Hage, a dedicated fan of the organization.
Indeed, Hage's father was a passionate Canadiens fan, so the whole family followed suit. Following a tragedy that took his father's life, this draft selection truly became a dream.
The 2022-23 season was tough for Michael, as he suffered a major injury that ended his season. During the summer, his father tragically drowned at a family gathering.
Needless to say, when he showed up at camp last year, the young man was shaken, but he performed admirably, finishing fourth in scoring in the USHL.
A video of the moment he heard his name called at 21st overall by Nick Bobrov is circulating now, including a discussion with his mother just before.
They talked about how much of a dream it would be to be drafted by his lifelong team, the one he and his father loved.
The video personally gave me chills. It's truly a beautiful story, and I'm convinced that Hage will give everything he has at every moment in honor of the logo and his late father.
