Former Montreal Canadiens Forward Is Taking the KHL by Storm

The Montreal Canadiens have gone through a very difficult period in recent years, with numerous changes among both management and players.
The club had a fantastic run during the 2021 playoffs, reaching the Stanley Cup Final, but that magical moment was unexpected, and the Montreal organization was going through dark years.
The 2015-16 (22nd), 2017-18 (28th), 2019-20 (24th), 2021-22 (32nd), 2022-23 (28th), and 2023-24 (28th) seasons are the most difficult of the past ten years. During this period, Michel Therrien, Claude Julien, and Dominique Ducharme were all shown the door as head coaches, along with GM Marc Bergevin and other members of the organization.
The Tricolore made multiple attempts to fix its roster, and some of Marc Bergevin's moves turned out to be very solid, notably Alexander Radulov, Ilya Kovalchuk, and Tomas Tatar. Kent Hughes also hit it big with
Sean Monahan.
Others were much less successful, especially the signing of Karl Alzner, but also the
Jonathan Drouin trade for
Mikhail Sergachev. The PK Subban-for-
Shea Weber trade is, of course, the most memorable of the past decade.
Jordan Weal is completely dominating the KHL, and his stats are impressive
You read that right. Jordan Weal simply seems too good for the KHL right now, and his numbers are impressive.
The former Montreal Canadiens forward has collected 45 goals and 128 points since the 2023-24 season. Jordan Weal is currently the 3rd leading scorer in the KHL since 2023, behind Nikita Gusev and Nikolai Goldobin.
Impressive, especially considering his best NHL season was 21 points!
