The Canadiens are battling injuries and a rough start, and the call-up of Joshua Roy is creating strong reactions among fans and sparking plenty of debate.

Joshua Roy was recalled this Sunday after a good start to the season with the Laval Rocket. In ten games, he registered seven points and posted a +4 rating.
However, we have to admit that this isn't really translating to the NHL.
Despite these very promising numbers, criticism is taking over. Several observers claim he does not deserve this call-up.

The criticism surrounding Joshua Roy and his NHL status is exploding

On social media, many did not hold back.
One message said:
"Roy isn't an NHL player at all. Don't know what he did to deserve that call up either"

- Michael
Another added:
"Not sure why they keep trying with Roy, he's not an NHL caliber player."

- Mitchy Gallo
These comments sum up the situation well, and it's not the first time this has happened.
Finally, here is another example of what could be read online:
"Why bring up Joshua Roy? We know what he brings "nothing"! I'd much rather see Xhekaj (Florian) called up.

It's always Roy and he's never noticeable! The only time I've noticed so far was when Columbus scored and he didn't have his man covered!"

- HabsFan67
In short, you get the hint.
Joshua Roy's call-up has become a flashpoint in a season already filled with uncertainty for the Canadiens, and every lineup decision for St-Louis is under the microscope right now.
