Trade talk builds around Steven Stamkos with the Canadiens among interested teams

The Canadiens are struggling with injuries and poor results, and some now believe Kent Hughes may be forced to make a move sooner than expected.
Now, Jeff Marek's latest comment generated a lot of discussion, and with good reason.
And that changes everything for the Habs.
According to Marek, the Canadiens aren't just on the list - they are truly in the discussion.
"Jeff Marek: Re
Steven Stamkos: Make no mistake about it, Vancouver is part of that conversation, as is Montreal, as are a number of teams"

The Canadiens are closely monitoring Stamkos as Nashville could become a seller
For those who haven't been following the situation, Stamkos is having a very tough start to the season with the Predators. That being said, he's still a true goal-scorer, a respected veteran, and a two-time Stanley Cup champion.
With 53 points last year, he once again proved he can help a team offensively.
For the Canadiens, this is not a crazy idea.
"Steven Stamkos and Martin St. Louis are former teammates on the Tampa Bay Lightning, with a significant history between them.
St. Louis took Stamkos's place on the 2014 Team Canada Olympic roster due to an injury."
- Go Habs Go Montreal
Kent Hughes has been looking for a forward capable of boosting the team's offensive level, especially within a young group.
And since Nashville is near the bottom of the standings, it's not impossible that the team considers trading certain veterans to acquire draft picks or prospects.
I honestly think a gamble like this could really change the look of the Habs, at least for now. As always, it depends on the price to pay, of course.
Even if Stamkos isn't playing quite like he once did, it would be pretty incredible to see him in a Habs uniform!
