The Canadiens have just received excellent news, although it is a bit sad at the same time.

Boston University, the team of prospects Lane Hutson and Luke Tuch, has been eliminated in the Frozen Four, which means their season is over.

Undoubtedly, Kent Hughes will want to sign Hutson to ensure he comes to play in Montreal or Laval next season.

For Hutson, it would be an excellent signing, as he would be using up one of his three years on his entry-level contract for just the three remaining games with the Canadiens.

Even if Lane doesn't join the team and play, simply signing his contract before the end of the season guarantees he skips a season, which is far from negligible.

So expect a major announcement from the Canadiens in the next few hours regarding Lane Hutson and possibly Luke Tuch as well.

Here is a rush from Lane that could have given his team the victory.
