The Montreal Canadiens left Chicago smiling after a dramatic 3-2 victory over the Blackhawks, and Stu Cowan had a lot to say about a few key players.
On X, Stu Cowan reacted to the performances of several players, but it's his message about
Noah Dobson that's drawing the most attention.
"The more I watch Noah Dobson the more I like him"
Cowan wrote, praising the defenseman's progress after a strong start to the season.
Cowan also made sure to highlight
Juraj Slafkovsky's impact in front of the opposing net, stating that he had become
difficult for opponents to keep up with.
Kaiden Guhle plays the hero, Slafkovsky asserts himself in front of the net
Defenseman Kaiden Guhle scored the game-winning goal with only 15.7 seconds left, giving the Canadiens their second straight win.
I also really liked the Suzuki-Caufield-Slafkovsky line. Even though he's seemed quieter since the start of the season, the Canadiens' captain collected three assists yesterday.. on all three goals.
In my opinion, what Cowan said about Dobson also shows how much he values complete, composed defensemen with the puck - a style that young Guhle is increasingly embodying in Montreal as well.
And he also made an intriguing comment about the trade that sent
Alexandre Carrier to Montreal in exchange for
Justin Barron - a move he still finds hard to understand.
"The more I watch Alexandre Carrier the more confusing it is that Nashville gave him up for Justin Barron"
- Stu Cowan
Some well-deserved rest for the Habs, who will face the Kraken in Montreal next Tuesday.
