This summer, a transaction involving the Montreal Canadiens caused a lot of buzz. It involved defenseman Logan Mailloux.
Indeed, GM Kent Hughes sent Mailloux to the St. Louis Blues in exchange for Quebec forward
Zachary Bolduc.
If he continues on this path, he will quickly become a fan favorite.
Last night, he made his official debut with St. Louis in a matchup against the Minnesota Wild.
Rough start for the former Canadiens defenseman
Drafted late in the first round by the Montreal Canadiens in 2021, Logan Mailloux was very controversial.
The main person involved, who faced a charge for distributing an offensive photo in Sweden, had himself asked league teams not to draft him.
Since then, people have talked much less about this story than about his potential to become a solid NHL defenseman.
Limited to only 14 minutes and 12 seconds, Logan Mailloux was the least-used defenseman by coach Jim Montgomery.
In a tough 5-0 loss, Mailloux finished his night with a -2 rating and 3 hits.
It will be interesting to monitor his progress and see if he manages to remain in the Blues' lineup throughout the season.
