Everyone knows that Kent Hughes is trying to trade a goaltender, either Jake Allen or Cayden Primeau. However, the fact that the GM openly announced that it could wait until next year raised doubts.

Indeed, Hughes seemed to have a price in mind and was not willing to deviate from it. It's surprising since the goaltender market is not very favorable this year.

Present on Pierre LeBrun's podcast, the Canadiens' GM was transparent, admitting that he is actively trying to trade a goaltender. It is his number one priority.

The last times he was this convincing, he traded Sean Monahan, Jeff Petry, and Ben Chiarot a few days later. In short, it's to be taken seriously, and an announcement could be imminent.
