Even on this Labor Day holiday, the rink at the CN Complex in Brossard was occupied by some members of the Canadiens.

While most of the Canadiens players took advantage of this day off, five diehards put on their gear to fine-tune their preparation before training camp.
On the ice were Lane Hutson, Nick Suzuki, Patrik Laine, Alexandre Carrier, and Zachary Bolduc. A small group, but highly interesting due to the diversity of profiles represented.
These voluntary sessions, often lighter and focused on skill development, allow players to refine certain aspects of their game outside the team routine.
To lead the practice, none other than Adam Nicholas, the skills development specialist, who regularly works with both the young players and the veterans of the Tricolore.
His presence confirms the importance placed on technical work, even outside the official schedule. Nicholas, known for his modern and personalized approach, was therefore tasked with supervising the drills and encouraging necessary adjustments.
Among the skaters present, Lane Hutson naturally drew attention. For his part, Nick Suzuki, the team captain, once again set the example by showing up early to work. His consistency and work ethic remain models for his teammates.
The presence of Patrik Laine, recently acquired by the organization, is also noteworthy. The Finnish forward seems determined to integrate quickly, and these extra sessions can help ease his adaptation to the Montreal system.
For Alexandre Carrier, these moments serve to build chemistry with his new teammates. Finally, Zachary Bolduc, who hopes to solidify his place within the group, is taking advantage of these practices to impress the coaching staff.
This small group illustrates well the mindset surrounding the Canadiens as the season approaches: commitment, discipline, and a desire to improve. Even on a day off, some players don't hesitate to lace up their skates to gain an edge.
