Former Canadiens Samuel Blais and Cayden Primeau Share First Words After Joining the Maple Leafs
The Quebec forward Samuel Blais, cut by the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday, thought he would be joining the Laval Rocket, but everything has just changed.
Indeed, fate decided otherwise.. he was ultimately claimed off waivers by the Toronto Maple Leafs, joining one of the Canadiens' biggest rivals.

Cayden Primeau was also claimed off waivers by Toronto and took part in the team's practice on Tuesday morning.
According to TVA Sports, The former Canadien admitted that he learned the news in a very modern way, by checking social media.

Samuel Blais Reunites with Craig Berube in Toronto After Their Stanley Cup Win
While the move to Toronto happened quickly, it promises to be smoother than it seems. In fact, Blais is reunited with a familiar face behind the bench: Craig Berube, his former coach in St. Louis, with whom he won the Stanley Cup in 2019.

The Leafs' new general manager, Brad Treliving, also confirmed that his scouts had noted the quality of Blais' training camp in Montreal.
"I would've liked things to work out in Montreal - I'm a local guy. But I'm excited to be here. I'm staying in the NHL, and that's all I wanted."
Tomorrow's home opener between the Leafs and the Canadiens will definitely be a game worth tuning in to!
