Needless to say, this unfortunate decision had a major impact on viewership.

However, we may witness a major turnaround ahead of the 2026 Winter Olympics, which will be held in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy. According to Greg Wyshynski, NHL executives and the NHL Players' Association are currently in discussions to allow players to represent their countries in this international competition.
