Martin St-Louis Officially Ends Debate by Naming His Main Goaltender for the Rest of the Season
Despite a strong October, Jakub Dobes will have to wait, as Martin St-Louis has decided to go with Samuel Montembeault in goal tonight against the Flyers at the Bell Centre.
It's not the news many Canadiens fans were hoping to hear today...
Martin St-Louis Confirms Samuel Montembeault as the Starting Goaltender for the Montreal Canadiens
"I believe you need to have a goaltender capable of taking on the bulk of the workload, and I think that goaltender is Montembeault. We're currently working in that direction."

That statement confirms quite a lot...
For now, Montembeault remains the Canadiens' number-one goaltender, despite a disappointing performance level since the start of the season.
That said, I understand St-Louis' logic - he wants to rebuild his Quebec-born goalie's confidence.
At the same time, though, I believe Jakub Dobes deserved better.
The young Czech has posted an incredible record and seems ready to take on a larger role within the organization.
For Dobes, patience will once again be tested.
The Canadiens play three games this week, and he could very well make a strong return as early as Thursday against the New Jersey Devils.
But for tonight, it's Samuel Montembeault who will have the task of extending the Canadiens' winning streak.
