Canadiens prospect Michael Hage victim of terrible management
With the 21st pick in the recent draft, the Canadiens selected forward Michael Hage, who is already seen as a potential steal by Kent Hughes.
The young forward had a great season despite facing a tragedy and a significant injury, which could have ended his NHL hopes.
Instead, he rolled up his sleeves and showed incredible resilience, finishing fourth in scoring in the USHL, just 8 points behind the leader.
Michael Hage Snubbed by Team Canada
Despite his performance, Hage was ignored by Team Canada for the upcoming World Junior Championship during the holiday season.
It's unclear if this has to do with the fact that he plays in the United States and not in Canada, but the three players mentioned above play in the CHL, while Hage plays in the USHL.
Notably,
Sacha Boisvert, who was selected 18th and also plays in the USHL, was similarly ignored.
In fact, among the players invited to the selection camp, all did their junior stint in a Canadian league, either the CHL or the BCHL.
There is clearly something wrong with the selection committee, whose primary goal is to put the best team possible on the ice.
Let's hope players like Michael Hage and Sacha Boisvert get their chance eventually.
