Fans Stunned as Tyler Toffoli Reunites with Cole Caufield and Canadiens Stars in Surprise Sighting
We're in for quite a surprise this afternoon in Brossard, as the talented Tyler Toffoli is back in town-and he's not going unnoticed! The forward is training with several Montreal Canadiens players, and Cole Caufield is also on the ice.
On October 12, 2020, Marc Bergevin announced a major signing for the Montreal Canadiens, confirming a four-year deal worth $17,000,000 with forward Tyler Toffoli.
A native of Scarborough, Ontario, Toffoli came to Montreal after playing seven seasons with the Los Angeles Kings-winning a Stanley Cup with them in 2014-and a brief 10-game stint with the Vancouver Canucks.
The forward quickly won the hearts of hockey fans in Quebec, and in his very first season with the Canadiens, the team pulled off the impossible by reaching the Stanley Cup Final in 2021.
The following year, unfortunately, was extremely difficult. Marc Bergevin was eventually shown the door, along with head coach Dominique Ducharme.
A month after being named GM of the Montreal Canadiens, Kent Hughes decided to trade Tyler Toffoli to the Calgary Flames in exchange for Emil Heineman, Tyler Pitlick, a 2022 first-round pick (which became Filip Mesar), and a 2023 fifth-round pick (which became Yevgeni Volokhin).
What followed was a whirlwind for Tyler Toffoli. In 2023, the Flames traded him to the New Jersey Devils in exchange for Yegor Sharangovich and a 2023 third-round pick.
A few months later, in March 2024, the Devils traded him to the Winnipeg Jets in return for a 2025 second-round pick and a 2024 third-round pick.
Then, in July 2024, Tyler Toffoli tested the free-agent market and ultimately signed a four-year, $24,000,000 contract with the San Jose Sharks.
