Kent Hughes will announce an important signing this week
It is now confirmed by multiple sources; Kent Hughes will announce the signing of a forward this week.
Indeed, Oliver Kapanen will finish his season in Liiga and is expected to sign with the Canadiens, according to a Finnish media outlet and Anthony Marcotte.
"News of Oliver Kapanen signing with the Habs at the end of this season, but he may still play next season in Europe with Timra.
Kapanen had an excellent season, but he is still young; one more season in Europe won't hurt him!" - Marc-Olivier Beaudoin
"I can confirm what Marco is suggesting here. Expect Oliver Kapanen to participate in the Canadiens' training camp but return to play one last season in Finland next year. Laval in 2025-2026 is very plausible." - Anthony Marcotte, BPM Sports
Kapanen would sign his entry-level NHL contract but would receive a loan to play in Finland next year. This is becoming increasingly talked about and seems to be materializing.
