With emerging young talents like Lane Hutson, Logan Mailloux, and David Reinbacher, Barron could become redundant, especially after the offseason departures of Jordan Harris and Johnathan Kovacevic.
However, right-side defensive depth, crucial in case of injuries, might push Montreal to keep Barron unless an attractive offer comes. The upcoming training camp will determine his future with the team and whether a trade will materialize.

I think the Canadiens believe someone might bite for a late first-round pick. Last year, we thought we could get a late first-rounder for Barron.
