New Top-Six Centre Option Emerges for the Montreal Canadiens Ahead of the Season
As the NHL offseason is in full swing, trade rumors continue to fuel discussions among hockey fans.
At 27 years old, Pavel Zacha has demonstrated over the seasons an ability to play both on the wing and at center, thus offering nice flexibility to his coach.
However, with the emergence of new talents on the Bruins and the management's need to juggle salary cap constraints, a trade could be an option considered.
This is what the well-known Frank Seravalli recently mentioned:
The only way I could accept a Pavel Zacha trade is if Pasta gave the «OK»
The NHLBruins traded away a big portion of their core (Coyle, Frederic, Carlo, Marchand) and have a solidified connection between Pasta & Zacha
It's imperative that you keep Pasta happy right now
In this context, the Montreal Canadiens could very well be a team to watch.
Still in search of solutions to stabilize their center line, the Tricolore has not yet found a definitive answer for the second centre position, behind
Nick Suzuki. Zacha could represent a credible and immediate option, thanks to his size, experience, and ability to contribute on both ends of the ice.
Heading toward a Boston-Montreal trade?
It remains to be seen if both management teams would be willing to agree on a mutually beneficial trade.
Montreal has several young prospects and draft picks that could attract Boston, especially with a view to renewal or roster rebalancing.
Although nothing is imminent yet, the signs indicate that if a serious offer is presented, the Bruins could seriously consider moving on from Zacha. A situation to watch closely in the coming weeks.
