Patrick Friolet, journalist at RDS, shared an anecdote that says everything about the young defenseman's personality.

During a recent discussion on RDS with his colleague Daniel Richard, Friolet explained why, in his opinion, Hutson seems even better since signing his new contract with the Canadiens.
"In Lane's case, he doesn't overthink it - he just wants to get on the ice as fast as possible. He's always the first one at practice, always the first to jump on the ice.

The journalist continued with a little joke, describing just how motivated Hutson is.
"I was joking that it feels like he's been sitting in the locker room since 7:30 in the morning when practice starts at 10, just waiting for someone to show up because he's too shy to go out there before anyone else." - Friolet

Friolet added that whenever he has the chance, Hutson jumps on the ice to practice.
"He's so motivated, so passionate."
And what I love even more is that this passion shows in his game.
With nine points in ten games already this season, Hutson is on his way to establishing himself as one of the most dynamic young defensemen in the NHL.
At only 21 years old, he already seems to have won over his coaches, his teammates, and now the journalists who travel with the team.
Even receiving a lot of praise from NHL stars Quinn Hughes, Cale Makar, and Zach Werenski. Now that says a lot!
