We finally know what Martin St-Louis yelled at the referee after Danault's controversial penalty
On Thursday, the Bell Centre was treated to a roof-raising night. The Montreal Canadiens crushed the Florida Panthers 6-2, highlighted by a hat trick from Alexandre Texier.
The Habs' goals were scored by Noah Dobson, Oliver Kapanen, Juraj Slafkovsky, and Texier (three times), including an empty-net goal at 19:10. The Panthers responded with two goals from Sam Bennett.
The craziest part is that it happened in the second game in as many nights. On Wednesday, Montreal had also beaten the Calgary Flames 4-1, again at the Bell Centre. Two straight wins, and a crowd that could feel something was happening.
In Thursday's game, the Panthers outshot Montreal 27-19, but Samuel Montembeault slammed the door with 25 saves on 27 shots. Even when things heated up, the scoreboard stayed clean and the Habs kept control of the game.
The Call That Sent Martin St-Louis Over the Edge
The moment that sparked everything was a high-sticking penalty called on Phillip Danault at 1:06 of the third period, a sequence that got a lot of people on their feet. And when things get heated like that, the camera's always find the right face on the bench.

What can be said with certainty is that St-Louis went after referees Kelly Sutherland and Tom Chmielewski, without holding back.
Here are Martin St-Louis' comments below:
"It was his teammate's stick! That makes no sense!"
"It's total b****t!" - MSL

While the debate was going on, Texier just kept piling up the goals. In 22 games with the Canadiens this season, he has 7 goals and 7 assists for 14 points, and his NHL career totals now stand at 262 games, 47 goals, and 105 points.
Safe to say he picked a pretty good time to make himself noticed.
