Former Montreal Canadiens Enforcer Lands Coaching Job
Brandon Prust, the former tough guy of the Montreal Canadiens, is back on the ice, but this time as a head coach.
During his time with the Montreal Canadiens, Brandon Prust had won over fans with his combative playing style, but his off-ice life was the subject of several less-than-flattering rumors.
His relationship with the popular host Maripier Morin fueled gossip magazines, and the buzz surrounding their nights out had become a distraction for the team.
It was in this context that Marc Bergevin got rid of the feisty Prust, and his career seems to have suffered afterward.
Let's hope he can teach his young players about the pitfalls that could await them in the future.
A New Start for the Former Montreal Canadiens Fighter
Prust, who played for the Calgary Flames, Phoenix Coyotes, New York Rangers, Montreal Canadiens, and Vancouver Canucks during his 12-year NHL career, joined the Nationals organization at the end of last season, but he will take control of the locker room for the first time at the start of this season.
"I want to help these young players reach their full potential and become better hockey players and better people. We want to set high standards and expect every player to give their best in every game. We have a lot of work to do, but I'm confident we can build something special here."

The former fighter, who experienced his share of controversies and fueled rumors of a party-focused lifestyle during his time with the Canadiens, seems to have gained some wisdom.
