Just a few hours ago, there was a rumor about a major twist concerning Logan Cooley with the Arizona Coyotes.

It was reported a few months ago that the talented prospect Logan Cooley was considering returning to NCAA for another season with the University of Minnesota.

"Logan Cooley, Hobey Baker finalist, will return for his second season with the Gophers."

Despite already showcasing his dominance in the American college hockey circuit with an incredible season of 22 goals and 60 points in 39 games, his decision surprised many people. Rumors even circulated about the possibility of him refusing to join the team that had drafted him third overall the previous year.

Sportsnet's insider Elliotte Friedman later stated that the third overall pick of the 2022 draft had reconsidered his decision to play another college season and instead decided to sign immediately with the Coyotes. He even mentioned that he expected the deal to be finalized within the next 24 to 48 hours.

Well, the rumor turned out to be true, as we have now officially learned that the promising young forward has signed his entry-level contract with the Coyotes.

It is now confirmed that Logan Cooley will play in the National Hockey League next season.

Montreal Canadiens fans will certainly be paying close attention to his first professional season, and this is likely to spark comparisons with the development of Juraj Slafkovksy, who was selected first overall in the same draft.
