Alexander Zharovsky's Start to the Season Shows He Won't Face the Same Problem as Demidov

Good news for Montreal Canadiens fans as they watch the debut of Alexander Zharovsky in the KHL.
While
Ivan Demidov had to deal last year with limited ice time under the orders of the famous Roman Rotenberg at SKA, the more recent 2nd-round pick of the Habs, Zharovsky, seems to be benefiting from a very different context.
Zharovsky benefits from the confidence of his coach in Russia, unlike Demidov
In just two games, the young Canadiens prospect has collected three points, including several spectacular plays.
But beyond the statistics, what encourages me the most is the fact that analysts all mention he seems to be playing with confidence and composure.
"Zharovsky was one of the most used forwards in his first two games of the season and he is taking full advantage of it."
- Marc-Olivier Cook
That contrasts with what Demidov experienced, who had to fight for every shift despite his immense talent.
In my opinion, this difference in treatment could have a major impact on Zharovsky's development.
And in my view, if Zharovsky keeps going on this path, people will be talking about him much sooner than expected in Montreal.
Of course, Demidov was clearly ready to join the NHL last year, but who knows-he might have been even more comfortable in the playoffs if he had gotten more ice time in Russia.
