Hughes and Canadiens Organization Deny Journalists Access to Speak to Demidov Today

An unusual decision regarding Ivan Demidov at the Montreal Canadiens' rookie camp is drawing attention and raising questions about the young prospects.
TVA Sports journalist Marc De Foy highlighted a peculiar situation at the Montreal Canadiens' rookie camp.
Indeed, several journalists requested to speak with Ivan Demidov and David Reinbacher, but these requests were immediately denied.
Ivan Demidov and David Reinbacher Absent from Media Availabilities
In his column, De Foy sums up the journalists' frustration well:
"Which players would you have liked to hear from on the first on-ice day of the Canadiens' rookie camp? You're on the same wavelength as the media if you answered Ivan Demidov and David Reinbacher. However, you'll have to wait until after the game against the Jets to get their impressions."
This decision is puzzling, especially since everything is currently positive around the Canadiens.

Furthermore, according to him, neither Chantal Machabée nor the communications team had any say in this decision. The directive supposedly came directly from upper management, possibly Jeff Gorton or Kent Hughes.
I understand that it is sometimes preferable to protect young players, but I must admit that this time, the decision seems exaggerated.
In fact, a short media availability would only have strengthened the bond between the fans and their most promising prospects. I also think that any media practice for these young players, especially in a second language, can be beneficial.
