We are slowly approaching August and Kent Hughes still hasn't acquired that top-six forward he talked about.

While one might think Hughes has thrown in the towel, Ryan Dixon of Sportsnet confirms that the GM is still looking to add a forward and a late offseason trade is still on the table.
"Montreal Canadiens still in need of another quality forward. However, they still might find a way to do it in the offseason," Dixon said.
According to Dixon, there is too much smoke for it to not happen. Hughes has already completed transactions in August, so we know he'll wait to have his price before announcing an exchange and it can happen right before the start of the season.
So keep in mind that a new forward could well arrive in the coming days or weeks. Hughes is still on the case; he hasn't given up.
