Plot twist: Cayden Primeau officially traded? Kent Hughes is demanding, and an offer was on the table, but he turned it down

The name on everyone's lips regarding a possible goalie trade with the Canadiens is Jake Allen. His agent mentioned in recent days that Kent Hughes must find a solution.

That's what we know openly and from a reliable source. I wouldn't be surprised if the agents of Cayden Primeau and Samuel Montembeault are also putting pressure on him.

According to Max Truman, an offer was on the table for the young goalie from the Blue Jackets, but the Canadiens' GM reportedly declined. The Oilers also reportedly negotiated strongly for number 30, but Hughes is unwavering; he wants his price.

"I had the chance to talk to someone well-placed in the last few days; he confirmed to me that Cayden Primeau had almost been traded to the Blue Jackets early in the season.

It seems, according to the same person, that the Oilers also showed interest in Primeau just before Christmas."

For the future of the team, Kent Hughes probably prefers to trade Jake Allen, but if he gets what he wants for Primeau, don't be surprised to see him go by March 8th.
